Safeguarding Children from harm.
Every child has the right to be protected from harm, neglect and exploitation and we at Holly Tree ensure that under the Children Act of 1989, 2004 and the Childcare Act 2006 we take every step possible to protect your child. We have a duty of care to act on and report any concerns to our local Safeguarding Children Board at Wigan.
In the event of a parent or relative wishing to report an allegation of abuse made against any adult caring for your child must notify the Local Authority Designated Officer referred to as LADO on: 01942 486042. The officer for the Wigan area is Steve Westhead.
Partnership with Parents
Displayed in our corridors on both sites we have information on the new Early Years Foundation Stage Framework ( EYFS ). This relates to the development of your child and the framework that Holly Tree follows.
We have a Parents Notice Board for each room and a policy of the month board for all to see. Parents can also read our Policy File, which is located in the office. Past and present Ofsted reports can also be read upon request. Children’s individual files can also be read if requested in writing.
Located in our hallway you will find our registration certificate, fire exits and procedure, our complaints procedure, together with our Holly Tree Staff photographs, for your viewing.
We produce a quarterly newsletter for our parents, detailing our plans for the future and nursery’s latest news and happening e.g photographer, Nativity and other upcoming events.
